AAUW of New Jersey Charitable Trust

The AAUW New Jersey Charitable Trust was established through the generosity of donors who wanted to support AAUW New Jersey and AAUW New Jersey branches across the state, as they worked to advance equity and to promote educational opportunities for women and girls.  Donations to the Charitable Trust have come from bequests and from individuals, AAUW branches, businesses and institutions.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

As funding proposal applications are received, they are evaluated by members of the Trust, all of whom are members of AAUW NJ and appointed to their position on the Charitable Trust (or serve as part of their job description on the state board).  They evaluate each proposal according to the guidelines posted on this site and notify the applicants when a decision is made regarding funding.  Applications must be submitted at least 12 weeks prior to the proposed event or project for which funding is sought.  One or more applications may be submitted for more than one project by a single applicant, but a second grant will only be considered if funds are available after considering all single requests.

The grant program is an opportunity for branches and members to work together. Partnerships with schools and community-based organizations are encouraged. Suggested activities include:

  • Teen Choices
  • STEM projects for girls
  • Workshops & Conferences
  • Equity Research
  • Mentoring Programs
  • True Colors Workshops
  • Women’s History Month Program
  • Diversity Program
  • International Women’s Day Program
