Teentech Ramapo was held on Monday, May 22, 2017 in Mahwah, NJ. Registered attendees were 134 high school girls and 18 educators from 10 high schools in central and northern NJ.
The day began with an opportunity for the students to discuss STEM career opportunities informally with professional women volunteers over breakfast. Then students each participated in two of the eight workshops offered, seven by the staff of Ramapo College of NJ, and one presented by volunteers from a local pharmaceutical company. A novel aspect of Teentech Ramapo was that two workshops were presented from fine arts professors involving the technology of music and lighting.
Thanks to the AAUW NJ volunteers Somerset Hills, Greater Wayne and Nutley Branches who helped the event run very smoothly.
Teentech at at Stockton University, Galloway, NJ
Teentech Stockton was held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Galloway Township, NJ. Registered attendees included 275 high school girls and 30 educators from 15 high schools throughout the state – this was our biggest Teentech ever. There were 19 different workshops, each presented twice.
The 27 presenters were primarily members of Stockton’s teaching staff, with some friends and family members lending their professional expertise to the event.
The many AAUW NJ volunteers from the Atlantic County and Cape May Branches who helped with the logistics of the event deserve our thanks for the successful coordination of such a large event.
